Victorian Pique Eclipse Brooch lost lovers the only female deer whoCool antique brooch dating from the Victorian period, circa 1870. The form is akin to a closed crescent, and reminds me of a solar eclipse.. the rare 'ring of fire' type whereby the moon is visible as a dark disc in front of the sun, with blazing flames around the edges. It's crafted in pique (moulded tortoise shell) with rose gold inlay and metal brooch fittings. Era: Victorian, circa 1870 Size: 3. 2cm by 3. 2cm Marks: None, fittings are base metal.
