Brown Rice Yarn Dyed Woven Stripe Tsumugi, Vintage Kimono Silk from Japan By the Yard # 538 Cotton Made in the Four CornersThe background color is toasty brown rice warm, not quite light pink and not quite light yellow, more earthy than ivory a slightly glowing light golden brown. The darker brownish olive stripes are yarn dyed, more crisp and strong than some of the photos look. Woven with a bit of texture and slubs, but this silk is also smooth and soft. Handwoven Tsumugi, probably 1970's, in excellent condition, this silk is thin, light, not shiny at all, more earthy.
