For sale here is a scarce H.L. Leonard Bi-Metal fly reel, made by Julius Vom Hofe. This is the 3rd generation Bi-Metal trout reel, bearing the 191813 US patent number. Constructed of bronze, nickel silver & aluminum, the reel is in very good used condition. Slight LHW bias. 2.5" pillar-to-pillar with a maximum spool width of 0.86". Weight is 4.90oz and this size is appropriate for most 1/2/3wt fishing. Mechanically tight with a fixed check, the nickel silver foot is full length and has a protective stripe of varnish on the underside (this could be removed without too much trouble). A beautiful example of an iconic American fly reel. Sold in a fleece drawstring pouch
